Harper Creek Community Schools is honored to have The Wall That Heals on its campus thanks to the Calhoun County Red White Blue Foundation.
The Wall That Heals is a three quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. Additionally, there is a mobile Education Center providing information about the memorial in Washington D.C. and the items left at the original memorial.
A Motor Escort for the memorial will be held July 12, beginning at Galesburg Augusta Primary School at 2:00 PM and traveling to the Harper Creek Soccer Complex. A detailed route may be found on the Red White Blue Foundation website.
The Wall That Heals will open Thursday, July 14 with an opening ceremony at 10:00 AM and be open 24 hours a day until Sunday, July 17 at 2:00 PM. A closing ceremony will be held at noon on Sunday.
HCCS is grateful to have this moving memorial on our premises and welcome all to witness first-hand The Wall That Heals.
Note: The Athletic Complex and Middle School parking lot will be closed to community activities beginning the evening of Monday, July 11 through Sunday, July 17. This includes the soccer complex, football field, track, tennis courts, and the service drive.
